Whilst the search was going for the relatives of the crew of LM 756 F-Freddy, a lot of work was also taking place in Austria, Mayor Wolfgang Auer had details of the crash site and the land owner gave permission for the memorial to be erected on the plot. The location for the memorial is a place with magnificent views over the local mountains on the edge of Adnet.
In Adnet there is a rare stone which is quarried known as Adnet Red Marble, this stone is used is some of Austria's most prestigious buildings such as the Great Hall in the Austrian parliament buildings, it is also present in Salzburg Cathedral. The quarry owners donated a large quantity of the stone in order to create the memorial which was large enough to entomb some of the parts of the actual aircraft which crashed there.
In the neighbouring town of Hallein, the State of Salzburg Stonemasonry Academy also offered assistance in ensuring that the memorial was created correctly and carved accordingly.
The Austrian Veterans Association along with the Austrian Air Force have confirmed that they will be participating in the memorial unveiling ceremony on the 25th of April 2015
